Q. What are the criteria for choosing these five cover characters?
Ronny: This year’s theme is “greatness”. That is the main theme we want to play. The greatest game in history, we think 2K23 will be the greatest 2K game in history. But Booker is probably the best 2k player who won the 2K Championship during the epidemic. He is also one of the best game players. I think there are three reasons why we choose active players.
I want to talk about career track, a player whose career is in the rising stage. Another major reason is that they have to play the game and spend a lot of time knowing how to talk about the game. What he said must be true. The third reason is whether it can meet our marketing plan. We have always wanted to elaborate a story, whether in advertising, marketing or other aspects.

Ronny: Yes, many people don’t know. People always thought that we would shoot specially for the cover. Booker is the first, which gives us more creativity and change when making covers. I think this is one of our best covers so far, because he is not a photo of the action in the competition. This is the result of everyone’s brainstorming, so he is also very happy to participate in it. He is very keen to participate in creation and similar things. This sets the tone for future cover production, which I think will be one of the things we will try and copy more in the future.
Q. I think the most interesting one is J-Cole’s. You decided not to use NBA/WNBA professional players, but chose a rapper. You have been brewing on Twitter for several years. How did this connection come about?
Ronny: I talked with J-Cole three and a half years ago. I will never forget our chat. At that time, I finished the All-Star Game. J-Cole took part in the All-Star weekend and deducted one. I thought to myself, “it would be cool to make J-Cole part of our game.” So we talked that night. He said, “I have always wanted to participate in the” my career “model.” He is also a keen 2k player. Q. What do you think is the biggest difference between 2K23 and 2K22?
Ronny: I think there are huge differences in game characteristics. The first is Jordan challenge mode. However, in terms of game operation, it balances the abilities of both sides of attack and defense and increases the number of self-created players. Especially in the Curry era, we tried to figure out the balance between outside and inside attacks. How should external projection be performed in the game? I don’t know if you have seen a data. The effective hit rate outside 35 feet is even higher than that within 10 feet. This is incredible, so how do you build the thinking process of the game in this mode? You don’t want everyone to throw Super-far three points, but this is part of the game and efficient, so this is always the point we want to adjust.

So there are 15 levels in total, and there were 10 levels before, but these 10 are the most famous games in Jordan’s career. Q. What do you think of this year’s scoring system?
Ronny: I think the scoring system can attract more people to pay attention to us, and the interaction with players also shows that they care very much. Scoring is very important to them, but in fact it depends entirely on their performance on the court.
In a word, scoring brings a lot of traffic every year. But if you look at the scores of the top 20 players, it is still very reasonable. The reason why people are angry may be that there are no 99 players in active service. But I like the current score very much, which can truly reflect the history of basketball.
Q. Only professional players participated in the tournament and achieved good response during the epidemic. Is there any plan to return this tournament?
Ronny: Of course I do, but the most challenging point is how to hold it in the middle of the season. Maybe it will never happen again, right? We have no chance to make these players have nothing to do for a long time. The only chance is in the offseason, but the problem is that we just announced the cover figure when the finals were over. Then the game was released one month before the start of the regular season, so we can fill this time gap.
