Zhang Bin, director of youth training of China Basketball Association, was interviewed by Xinhua News Agency recently and talked about the progress of youth training.
Zhang Bin told the reporter that the Chinese Basketball Association is plus-sized training for basketball reserve talents, and setting up the director of youth training is one of the measures. Starting from October this year, the Chinese Basketball Association will begin to hold training of U series teams at different locations in China irregularly. On the one hand, it will find out the situation of reserve talents, on the other hand, it will also strengthen the communication and training between youth teams and grass-roots coaches.
“We plan to start from October, first catch the players born in 2007-2008. There will be U16 Asian Championships next year. This age group is very important. We plan to start from technology, and train team members while coaching and training grass-roots coaches. We are going to invite several teams of men and women to play a competition in Qinhuangdao, and then do a 10-day training and training. The coaches of the participating teams can watch the training of the coaching team, find gaps and weak links in normal training.”
According to Zhang Bin, similar training camps will be held in Guangdong, Shanghai and other provinces and cities. Club echelon, Sports Bureau team, sports school team and school team can participate. Through several months, we can master and understand the current strength of children of 2007-2008 age group in the country, establish a talent database, and know it clearly when we organize teams to participate in the U16 Asian championship next year. This method is also beneficial for coaches from all over the world to learn from each other and learn from each other. If the effect is good, it will be promoted and implemented in other age groups.
Zhang Bin told the reporter that the Chinese Basketball Association will also hire a full-time coach for the U series National character team. In the past, U series national teams were all temporarily forming teams and participating in the competition, which lacked overall planning for the long-term development and technical and tactical style of the team. In the future, China Basketball Association will try to hire a full-time coach to take charge of the U Series team. In addition, the Chinese Basketball Association will evaluate the coaching performance of U18 male, women’s basketball head coach Li Xiaoyong and Li Xin to determine whether to hire for a long time.
Zhang Bin believes that in addition to training, competitions are also important for the growth of young players. The performance of the Chinese team in the U18 men’s and women’s basketball Asian Championships has great ups and downs, which has a lot to do with the lack of experience of the players. In recent years, domestic U series competitions have been greatly affected due to the epidemic. The next step is to recover as soon as possible and hold them with high quality and efficiency to provide a better environment for the growth of young players.
