Live Bar, September 16 -recently, trailblazer Star Lillard visited The Dave Pasche podcasting program.
The host asked, “You signed a renewal contract this summer. You said you wanted to end up in Portland. Looking back, have you ever wavered at any point?”
Lillard said: “I would say that if there is a time point, it should be last summer. But I didn’t even say ‘I want to go elsewhere’ or something like that, I just said, I want a real chance to win. After we lost to the Dementors Nuggets (2-4 non-adversaries in the first round), I just felt very depressed because I felt that we had no chance but to watch other teams win the championship.
“When there are teams marching everywhere after winning the championship, when this happens, I can’t control my jealousy and depression. I don’t believe I will go somewhere else. It’s like, I feel that we must put ourselves in a real position to win, which I did last summer.”
